7 Months!

Somehow Hannah is over half a year old! Here's a little rundown on Miss Hannah Marie:

Weight: 18 lbs.

Height: ~27 Inches

Clothes: 6-12 Mos. shirts, 12-18 Mos. pants (She fits into the 6-12 Mos. pants, but I buy the next size because they'll last longer!)

Favorite food: Cherry Italian Ice (She liked it so much she tried to say "more"!)

Favorite Toy: Bathtub links

Favorite Book: Where's Baby's Belly Button? Read by Daddy before bed every night.

Favorite Song: Baby Beluga

Teeth: 1! Hannah's first tooth started to come in! The second looks like it might break any day!

Naps: Usually 2 a day, a short one in the morning and a longer one in the afternoon.
Words: Mama, Dada, Hi, Yea

Hannah has been having a lot of fun trying all sorts of new foods. At this point she's eaten a whole bunch of purees as well as banana and apple puffs, applesauce and banana bread. She's almost got her pincer grasp down!

Hannah is really into mimicking now. She tries to make the same faces and sounds that we do. She's also been mastering sitting and mustering the courage to start crawling. She gets on her hands and knees and rocks back and forth, but hasn't crawled yet! That doesn't mean she can't get around though, she's been pamper scooting and rolling all over the place!

We made our first trip to Buffalo with Hannah. Unfortunately, it wasn't under the best circumstances. Still, Hannah did so well during the 12 hour car ride, four more hours than usual! Now that the travel band-aid has been ripped off, we're looking forward to more road trips!

Hannah also experienced her first cold along with Mom and Dad. Mom and Hannah vegged out in front of the TV, sniffling and sneezing. Unfortunately Daddy had to go to work!

Now we're gearing up for Hannah's first Halloween. We went pumpkin picking and had a little photo shoot with pumpkins Opa grew especially for Hannah. We haven't decided on her costume yet, but we have a few good options. We can't wait to take her trick or treating (to the grandparent's/ great grandparent's houses)!

5 Months!

At this point Hannah is well into her fifth month! You can really notice her transforming from a newborn baby into a little girl.

So big!

She lets you know what she likes and dislikes, and she has an opinion about EVERYTHING! Hannah's babbling sounds a lot more like talking and most of the time she can be found having a serious conversation with herself, or her toys, even Eli's guitars! My favorite development is Hannah's bear hugs & kisses. It's nothing short of a full on body attack of affection. She grabs your neck & hair and practically gnaws your chin off!

She's also sitting up on her own now! She can't actually get up by herself, but with a little help getting to the sitting position she'll play for quite a while before she falls down!

Hannah also ate her first "real food" meal this month! She enjoyed a lovely bowl of watery rice cereal as an introduction into the world of solids. Before trying solids with Hannah, I had read all about how difficult it may be to get your baby interested in eating solid food, so I was prepared for an uphill battle. Not surprisingly, Hannah ate her first meal like a champ and was very upset when she was finished! Now when we feed her we struggle to get the spoonfuls in fast enough! So far she's eaten rice cereal and bananas, tonight we're trying carrots (maybe some icing for daddy's birthday?)!

We also introduced the sippy cup and Hannah loves drinking water out of it. I think we're going to try to bypass bottles all together!

We've been having so much fun this summer as a new family, going on small adventures and enjoying all of Hannah's "firsts". I can't believe she's almost 6 months old!

4 Months!

Ok, 4 Months 3 Weeks. We've been enjoying summer and all that the beautiful weather has to offer- too busy to blog! Hannah has changed so much since the last update. At her 4 month check up she was 13 pounds 14 ounces and 25 inches long! She's still holding steady in the 50th percentile for weight, but she dropped to the 75th percentile for height (looks like she'll be a shorty after all). She's doing better with sleeping in her crib and naps there exclusively, unless we're out.

Over the summer it has become quite clear that Hannah is an outdoors baby. She loves the pool!

I really love sucking water off of my fingers!

She loves to take walks in the front pack and LOVES trees!

Hannah has quite the attention span for rustling leaves! If she's crying for no apparent reason, we take her on the porch and she usually quiets right down! I can't wait to take her camping and I know Eli has been itching for a beach day!

She seems to really enjoy tummy time now! If we put her down on her back she inevitably rolls to her belly. She's learned how to get her arm out from under her and she kicks her little legs but hasn't gotten far, yet!

We haven't heard the "da" yet but Hannah makes the "ma" sound when she cries. Maybe "mama" will be her first word (I know, dream on, mama!)! I hesitate to write this, but Hannah seems to have gotten over her car anxiety. She's back to playing happily in the backseat until she falls asleep!

3 Months!

On Father's day last year, we found out we were going to have a baby and now she's over 3 months old! On Saturday she'll be 100 days old, SOOO OLD! She weighs about 13 lbs. and is 24 inches long. She's growing so quickly, dressing her has become a challenge because she's too long for a lot of her 3 month outfits but she doesn't have enough pudge to fill out her 6 month clothes!

That's the look of complete misery.

The car - Hannah used to love the car, or at least tolerate it, but now she screams from the time she's put in the backseat until she's taken out, or passes out!

Some things we're working on:

Rolling- Hannah can roll all over the place, but when she gets to her stomach she always gets her arm stuck under her.
Sitting- Hannah is always trying to pull herself to sit if she's in a reclined position, but once she gets there she topples right over!
Talking- Hannah babbles all the time! Mostly "aaa" and "ooo" sounds with an occasional "g". I'm trying for the "da" for Father's Day, but I think it's still a little way off.
Birth Announcements and Thank You notes- Hannah never seems to find the time (but she's really sorry it's taking so long)! ;)

2 Months!

Holy moly! We're not quite there yet, but in 3 days little Hannah will be 2 months old! And she already does so much! She can track objects, turns her head to see her mommy and daddy if we make some noise, suck her thumb, rocks her spaceship motion gym, and never sleeps!
