Third Trimester Update!

The last time I updated this space I looked like this:
20 week belly!

Now I look like this:
35 week belly!
At 35 weeks, the baby is supposedly about the size of a honeydew and seems to be planted directly on my bladder. I had a sonogram at 32 weeks and the technician estimated the baby's weight to be 4 lbs. 11 ounces, that's a huge 32 week old! I'm not overly worried about the weight considering they estimated Hannah's weight to be right around 7 lbs. shortly before her birth and she came out at 8 lbs. 9 oz. The most important thing is that the baby continues to look healthy. We have another sonogram in a week and I can't wait to take another peek!
32 week profile shot!
We're finally starting to get the house ready for this little baby beluga! And by we, I mean Eli. He installed shelving in the kids room closet so that we were able to move most of the toys there. And with the toys out of the way he was able to put the crib up in their room! Hannah helped!

Big helper!
Still not happy in the crib!

Now most of the prep falls to me. My "to do" list includes sorting through Hannah's clothes to make room for the new baby's stuff in their dresser, washing all of the bedding and tiny clothes and finding all of the baby equipment that was packed away (not so) long ago! I suppose I should pack a hospital bag and install the carseat at some point too.  I'm fully expecting another almost 42 week pregnancy which is quite possibly giving me a false sense of security when it comes to prep time!

I think Hannah is beginning to understand that we're going to have a baby in the house or at least that something is up. She spends most of the day disrobed from the waste down, with her shirt up looking at her "baby". She also insists I lift my shirt up so she can see my baby to give it kisses and cuddle in.

It's pretty adorable.

20 Things for 20 Weeks!

1. The baby is supposedly the size of a banana or a small cantaloupe, depending on which pregnancy website you look at. For me this means I've got a pretty formidable bump going on!
Catch ya later, feet!
2. I'm feeling really great right now! I regained a lot of energy that was zapped out of me during the first trimester. I really do forget I'm pregnant sometimes, Hannah helps a lot with that!
3. Heart burn has begun! I was actually pretty surprised by this symptom despite it being quite common among other woman. My pregnancy with Hannah actually cured my GERD, probably because I stopped drinking wine almost every night.
4. I'm having crazy pregnancy insomnia. Many nights I wake up around midnight and can't get to sleep again for another 2 hours. Today I've been up since 3:30 am.
5. Eli and I have been feeling a little guilty about not paying more attention to this pregnancy with baby #2, so on Saturday we went to Babies R' Us and started a registry. It was very different from last time and pretty much the only thing on our minds was diapers, diapers, diapers!
I think he got me.
6. 138 days until my due date!
7. After much deliberation we decided to deliver baby #2 at the same hospital where Hannah was born. We had such a great experience the first time around we didn't want to mess with it!
8. We're in the middle of trying to prepare for the new baby which means moving Hannah to her own big girl bed. It's not going well.
9. When we ask Hannah "what's in Mommy's belly?" she'll now say "baby!" and start talking at it. Cutest. Thing. Ever.
10. We had the 20 week anatomy scan this week and everything is looking great! We chose not to find out the gender!
Profile shot!
11. I'm going on record with my guess of girl but I have nothing scientific to back that up (seriously, we don't know).
12. Eli thinks it's a boy.
13. Hannah thinks it's whatever gender we say last when we ask her. "Is it a boy or a girl?"- "Girl!", "Is it a girl or a boy?" - "Boy!".
14. I'm a lot less nervous for the delivery this time around but we'll see how I feel at full term!
15. I'm a lot more anxious about life after the delivery & hospital stay.
16. I can feel the baby kicking away now, but Eli hasn't been able to feel it yet.
17. Hannah was a tiger for Halloween. This has nothing to do with pregnancy other than the fact that I managed to give myself a stomachache Halloween night from all of the candy I devoured. I crave sweets!
Too Cute!
18. My stomach has grown a lot faster this time around.

20 Weeks with Hannah!
20 Weeks and a lot bigger with baby 2!
19. I'm really trying to get back on track with healthy eating. During the first trimester all I wanted was bagels and cereal.
20. I started to cry when thinking about a present for the baby to give Hannah when they first meet. Unfortunately, I was in Babies R' Us at the time.

I'm so anxious to meet this little one and become a family of four but I'm also trying to soak in what's left of pregnancy! Only 20 weeks, yikes!

Big News!

There's another Tail in our Tale! We're expecting our second baby to arrive somewhere around April 5th and we couldn't be more excited for this addition to our family!
"Mommy's due with baby 2! April 2014"
Last time we used this blog to closely chronicle our adventures, emotions and expectations throughout pregnancy. This time I'm just hoping we get a few posts in to keep far away relatives somewhat up to date! Big sister leaves very little personal time for Mom and Dad!

High heels at one and a half?
Right now I'm 14 weeks pregnant. The baby is about the size of a lemon and weighs about 1.5 oz. The first trimester was a lot more difficult than last time. Not only was I way more nauseous but keeping up with a toddler proved difficult. I just keep trying to remind myself that this is the easiest it's going to get, at least for a while, which is both reassuring and incredibly frightening at the same time. Some days I'm so excited for this second baby to arrive I wish April were around the corner, other days I'm hoping for the longest pregnancy ever, which is what I'm more likely to get if last pregnancy is any indication. Either way, I'm so happy to be entering the second trimester, I'm over bagels for every meal because it's the only thing I could stomach!
14 weeks with Hannah!
14 Weeks with Baby 2!
Eli and I have been talking to Hannah about the baby in Mommy's belly and despite being the smartest baby ever (mommy bias?) we don't think she quite grasps the concept, which is totally expected for a 19 month old. This morning after talking about the baby she started yelling "Baby, where are you?!?".

Overall, this pregnancy is seeming to go by a lot more quickly than the last and this new little one will be here before we know it, ready or not!
Hey, Baby!

1 Year Old!

Our sweet baby girl turned one on March 8th and seemingly overnight she's transformed into a toddler. Compared to the bundle of pudge we brought home from the hospital she's so grownup!

One year later.......

Hannah had a special treat because Daddy stayed home from work to celebrate her birthday all day long! She also had some special birthday visitors, her Grandma, Aunt Heidi and Aunt Kathrynn came down from upstate!

7, 8, 9, 10 Months!

These past few months were filled with all sorts of seasonal fun, many developmental milestones and LOTS of pictures!

October (7 months old):
Hannah helped carve pumpkins!
Hannah helping daddy with his scarred pumpkin!
Hannah was  a bee for halloween! We went trick or treating in town with Henry and Sophia!
Everyone is so enthused!
November (8 months old):
We went to Buffalo for Thanksgiving!
I got a migraine on Thanksgiving so I don't have many good pictures of that day :(
Enjoying one of her early Christmas presents from Grandma!
Spoons are so much fun!
Smooches from Uncle Al
She met her Grandpa on Eli's side!
Delaware Park!
Are you looking at me?
Hannah went to Apollo's for the first time with her Great Grandma!
Bring on the fish fry!
On the way home we got to visit Aunt Heidi!
Wallace girls!
Hannah started crawling right after Thanksgiving!

December (9 months old):
Hannah decorated for Christmas!
Picked out a tree for Mor Mor and Opa!
Pine needles look yummy!
And had multiple photo shoots in her Christmas dress for the Christmas card!
Enough already, Mom!
We went to the Christmas parade and even saw Santa! Hannah loved the bands and the floats that played music.
She saw Santa again when he rode around town on the fire truck!
Aunt Ariana will save me from that noisy thing!
Hannah's first Christmas:
Soo many presents (most are for Hannah)!

Whats this?
Mor Mor and Hannah Christmas Morning
Aunt Kathrynn and Hannah Christmas Morning
She even had a personal visit from Santa Christmas morning!

And now Hannah is 10 months old! She crawls all over the place and is starting to stand and cruise along the furniture. She's very chatty with people she knows. Some of her new words are "uh oh", "more" and "me", she can also say "Hei-Dee".  She's learned "how big is baby?" and immediately throws her hands up on cue. She also puts her hands on her head when anyone says "oh my goodness!". If you ask her what sound a puppy makes she barks and for an owl she hoos. Eli recently taught Hannah how to turn on our iPhones/iPad, which were already her favorite toys, but now that she can make them go, she likes them even more! Hannah also gives kisses, mostly to her toys and her reflection, but we're working on that! :)

Now we're in the midst of planning Hannah's first birthday! 1 year old, yikes!
